Daytime Doubled up Kirkbys?

Did my eyes deceive me or was 142045 and 150117 working daytime doubled up Kirkbys yesterday if so anyone know why? The previous one was 156471 the following one to the double unit was Cancelled and the one after was 142061 i was just baffled at the four carriages to Kirkby there normally only on the first and second to last train of the day.

That train as far as im aware techniquest is booked a 150+142 i refer to the 12:52 departure from Wigan Wallgate Kirkby Bound

Then I have no idea sorry. Didn't know that was booked 150+142, guess the same applies to the 0817 Manchester Piccadilly to Chester via Altrincham?

Saw the 1330 KIR-MCV roll in on Monday with 2 sets, but this is booked for a single 142 and was probably a one off. Probably a stock move from Wigan to NH.

can anyone check if they stayed coupled as the kirkby line interworks with Wigan-Vic Shorts doesn't it?

The 17:10 to Kirkby im sure left Victoria today as a Single 142 (142057 from memory) yet arrived at Orrell as a 156+142 combination with the 142 half out the station due to them forgetting to lengthen that platform did my eyes deceive me or did they add a 156 at the front at Wigan? if so Why??? why not add it from Wigan Manchester bound? is this booked this way as im aware the Monday-Friday is booked a 142+150 but all the way from manc. the train left Wigan 7 late having lost around 3 minutes on a slow approach to Wallgate for some reason.
