Day ticket around Manchester

Planning a trip to Manchester Tuesday 14th February & need to know if there's a cheap day ticket I can purchase for unlimited travel around the city?
Will be travelling about off peak?

GM Rail Ranger (£5.90) covers national rail within Greater Manchester, plus trams within the city zone however isn't valid in the evening peak

You also have a GM Daysaver "TM" which is valid for all the national rail within Greater Manchester and also the entire Metrolink network, but against isn't valid in the evening peak on trains (valid on the trams)

If you want something valid for the evening peak period, you will need the GM Wayfarer (which is valid for an wider area outside Greater Manchester)

There's the GM Rail Rover that costs around £5.90, this covers all Greater Manchester rail lines plus trams in the city zone. For £12 you could get the GM Wayfarer - this also allows travel to just outside the GM boundary plus the entire tram network.

'Just outside" includes Macclesfield, Buxton, Grindleford, Darwen, Chorley and the Warrington stations (but not valid Wigan-Warrington directly, IIRC).

Most of the Peak District bus network is covered - as far as Ashbourne and Matlock for example.
