Davros is Back !!! (Doctor Who)

I could hardly contain my excitement as I read in The Daily Record yesterday that Davros is back in series nine of Dr Who starting in September.

Apparently for those with long memories it is a follow on to Tom Bakers Genesis of the Daleks from the seventies.

Who else remembers when Baker was unwilling to connect the wires and seal the fate of the embryonic Daleks.

Can I just state that the reappearance of this iconic and in my view unsurpassed nemesis of The Doctor is long overdue. (not that I'm biased)

The story was originally from the Mirror which said this would be in the opening two parter. However, the BBC have already said that both Missy and UNIT will be in the opener so it would be fairly crowded if this was true.

According to the Daily Record report Davros or The Doctor may be a child when the meeting takes place - I'm not sure of the exact circumstances. Can anyone furnish further information ?

I can't say I care about Davros, I just want better stories. Capaldi is an excellent Doctor, but he has had nothing but pure unadulterated London Bridge to work with. And don't get me started about the train episode...

I didn't enjoy the last series very much at all. I thought that the stories and the plots were pretty poor overall. Robin Hood and the train episode were very poor in my view.

I'll be honest. The rumours about the return of Davros don't really fill me with a great deal of hope for the next series either. I won't elaborate here (spoilers!), but looking at various sites and what is being said there, the show looks like it could be heading in the wrong direction...it doesn't seem as though it will be the Davros that we all recognise.

Yes I'm sorry but I don't think it would be better than Genesis of the Daleks! I don't rate the new series at all to be honest, McCoy went at the end of Survival, as far as I am concerned, that is the end, should have left it at that really

Several, although one (Doctor Who: Remembrance of the Daleks (first aired 1988)) appeared to show Davros being blown up but if the video/DVD is watched closely, his escape pod can be seen leaving the ship (I couldn't say if it is as broadcast, but most likely is). There is sure to be an explanation...

...and it cannot be any less plausible than the Doctor getting around his regeneration limit.

Davros never dies, as the very embodiment of the shows most iconic characters and their creator he is far to important to be killed off

Meh. Could be alright. The only decent Davros stories are Genesis and Remembrance (the latter is vastly underrated in my opinion, probably the best story of that era).

I'm afraid that looks like a mark 1 new series dalek (the 5'5" version). Which would be about right because the aim was to have daleks about the same size as the primary companion, and the "new dalek paradigm" was an excuse to realign to 5'11" (taller companion). As the current companion is not the tallest, the shorter dalek is more appropriate and it will be easier to write an explanation than the new dalek paradigm.
