Reported on the BBC web site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23443396

A Network Rail source has confirmed to the BBC that their chief executive, Sir David Higgins, will leave the company "at some time next year".
He has been credited with improving relations between Network Rail, the government, unions and the rail industry

Edit: Some backpedalling evident on the BBC web site. They now say he "may" leave next year...
Spot the difference in the first line of the quote (my bold):

A Network Rail source has confirmed to the BBC that their chief executive, Sir David Higgins, could leave the company "at some time next year".

To be fair, he has always been pretty honest internally about not being in it for the long haul.
