This section is for Dartmoor Railway and freight trains to Meldon Quarry. This section includes:

Crediton(x) - Yeoford(x) - Coleford Junction* - Samford Courtenay** - Okehampton***(x1), Meldon*** and Meldon Quarry^

KEY:

(x) - National rail station
(x1) - National rail station during Summer Sundays
* - No station
** - Heritage station rarely used
*** - Heritage railway
^ - No station, Freight Ballast Depot

I live at Yeoford and decided it is my duty to forfill this sector of line and this railway. I will soon start a Tarka Line (Exeter-Barnstaple) sector if requested.

Its a nice line although last time was a very slow 5 seconds of thrash affair!

I am hoping to attend the diesel gala if they provide a form of transport from civilisation.

Why don't you volunteer at the railway? They are having a working weekend soon to clear back some of the overgrown vegetation, i'm sure if you got in touch they would be pleased to include you in it.

I'm 13 years old.

Besides, a guy that offers me and my mate cash in hand work, like cutting logs etc owns the redundant platform at Yeoford, which Dartmoor Railway want to operate. He hates them because they invested £10,000,000, much of it from public Devon funds, on the railway between Coleford Junction (no station, a literal junction which is as far they operate) and Yeoford, and there are two lines, the general line used for frequent Tarka services, the line DR want to use is used by EWS and Freightliner for Meldon Quarry work. Basically, all donations and some of our tax went into maintaining a line for freight operators, and DR got nothing out of it. Network Rail have refused to continue helping Dartmoor Railway's bid for the platform as it causes mass outrage in areas. The only thing NR want to do with it is maintaining the line to Okehampton, which is operated as Network Rail by FGW on Summer Sundays and daily for ballast trains.

Has anyone heard about DR's plans to expand to the abandoned platform at Yeoford? They are hoping to connect with FGW services on the Tarka.

I was speaking to the guy who owns that platform other day (rich b*stard), and he reckons they won't have the correct money for the entire project, and so isn't allowing them to use it.

Evidently you really do not have a clue what you are talking about! I don't think that there is one single accurate comment in any of this posting!
