Hi all going to Dublin next Monday, Does anyone know how much a return fare from the centre of Dublin to Greystone is? and also would like to stop of in Bray on the way back which I assume will be valid with a return ticket.

Also anyone done the cliff walk from Bray to Greytones?

It's a made-up path almost all of the way and mostly fairly level(ish). Steep at the Bray end. No shelters - take waterproofs! Look out for the old alignments and the old bridge now at the water's edge near Greystones.

Farewise - I'm sure someone'll get back to you but DART fares are extremely reasonable.

Connolly-Greystones Day Return is €10.50.

I was told by a booking clerk last year that break of journey is not permitted, so Bray might not be OK. I can only recommend asking either their customer services or once you get over there.

DART fares are extremely reasonable.

An all day pass is 11.10 euro, but I have a horrible feeling you need some form of ID card. It's worth asking about this (and I would be interested to know whether you do need one for day tickets).

Greystones itself is a lovely wee town. Would love to do the cliff walk now someone's mentioned it. The costa there is quite nice too.

Anyone know how long the walk could take? only in Dublin two days so don't really want to spend too much time out of the city

You do NOT need any form of id for one day Dublin area tickets. There is a one day ticket valid on rail only ending at Greystones, Balbriggan, Hazelhatch and Maynooth (includes M3 branch) plus a rail and LUAS one, the latter only available form Irish Rail ticket offices, it is around 2 Euro more than the rail only one but I don't have the current fares to hand.

Take a look at http://www.irishrail.ie/index.jsp?p=118&n=238 (Fares & Tickets section). A day return to Greystones is €10.50 but I think your best value would be the Adult All Day Rail Only @ €11.10.

A Dublin Leap Card would be your cheapest option and is valid for the journey you wish to take.

Also,

I did the walk several years ago, think it took about two hours or so and that was taking it easy. Did train to Bray, walked to Greystones for the train bacl. Make sure you bring the camera, especially if the sun is out!
