Dapol OO Class 150/2 Info?

I would like to know if Dapol's OO 150/2 was a good model to run/look at.

Just bought a Sprinter version for $AU95, it seems to run well (granted my only test was on a rather tight U-drive layout) and can't complain personally.

Thoughts?

My understanding of the model is that it looks more like a cross between a 150 and a 155. That said I just got a DC Kits 150 and was not convinced of its looks either, will try the Bratchell Models 150 next time.

Hmmm, didn't notice until today that there were two versions, one was the usual double set doors typical for a 150 (the one purchased) and the other was more in the style of a 156 style end doors (the one I actually was intending to purchase a few weeks ago). Was there a reason for this or was this an attempt to save costs on tooling etc? And which of the two were more realistic in tersm of aesthetics?

The double door one sounds more like the Dapol model I know of. If the front end is adjusted a bit, mainly the headlights which stand proud of the front on the real thing, it can pass for a 150/2.

Check some pics, I'll post the wikipedia pages for each class below for you to check and see what you think.

Well, the two units were different, I did look at the packaging which appeared to indicate they were the same.

The other one may have been a 155, at least in it's looks.

How is the reliability and performance of these units compared to others? It's my first Dapol so any little quirks it does have are unknown to me.

This image of a Dapol 150/2, although has the doors correct appears to have the body profile of a 153

The front lights on that 150 are also set in the bodywork, which they aren't on a 150

Those are the two, although both had the Sprinter logo and wording on them.

Although looking forward to the Hornby 153 later on in the year.

One is definately a 153 (single car), the other is supposed to be a 150 (two Car). There are a few detail differences on the model 150 to the real thing. I think they got lazy and put the 155 front end on it. The opposite end of the 153 pictured above will have the same front, as it does in realife (the 153s were converted from 155 vehicles).

Oh, well it is possible that it was a 155 and 150 then.

Thinking about it, that would make sense as I don't think 153s ever had the Sprinter branding applied.
