My Dapol Class 122 Bubble car runs ok when using Hornby Elite control but will not run on a Guagemaster control , apart from just humming. Any thoughts?

What sort of decoder do you have in it? I sometimes find with Dapol stuff that it’s a bit choosy with what you decide fit it with and all of my (N gauge) Dapol locos are fitted with Dapol decoders now.

It's a OO model and fitted with dapol decoder as far as I'm aware.
