Is it just me who feels that some photos look more like screenshots taken from video games rather than real life?

I am literally amazed by the quality, the sharpness of it all.

Most of them tbf, but the Amtrak 90222 one and the Amtrak 192 both stand out.

I think it's the lighting, the huge contrast between bright areas and shadow-covered regions, and the simplicity of the surroundings, that did it.

Very tempted to visit the place sometime myself.

Good shots, I visited back in late 2014 and took some very similar photos. Dallas station is nice, I didn't go up into the tower, but we actually stayed the night in the attached hotel with a room overlooking the station. Most comfortable trainspotting location ever!

The sun is lovely but can be a nightmare for photography.

We even went to a Stars game, it was a pre-season friendly, but still had several good fist fights. If you are ever there again, the drag strip in nearby Ennis is superb and holds rounds of the NHRA - a real photographer's dream!

Agreed about the sun. Dallas station is particularly bad as the sun always seems to come from behind the tower.
At Temple too I had problems with shooting into a strong sun
