Are Northern using 156s or 158s on this years DalesRail service from Blackpool North?

If the opportunity to use Class 180s was available, could they use the same Traincrew from Blackpool to Carlisle?

It's booked for a 156+158 and a single 156 as far as I know (as last year).

The use of the 180s isn't possible as they aren't cleared for the East Lancs, Clitheroe or the S&C. Blackpool Driver's don't sign beyond Hellifield either and Skipton don't sign 180s (only Blackpool and Manchester Victoria are involved in their operation). Blackpool Guards work the service throughout though.

The 180's are the best looking trains in my opinion; they're simply awesome looking beasts. Don't know why Northern don't have more of them because they don't half project a really good image for any TOC running in their colours. Nice picture of half a 180 being transported by road is attached

Just one more question!

Is the stock already at Blackpool North sidings overnight or does Northern run it ECS from Newton Heath on Sunday mornings?

It comes off Blackpool North LMD and also stables there at the end of the diagram.

driver9000, I travelled on the 1st train on Sunday, booked 158+156.

We didn't stop long enough @ Hellifield for the Blackpool Driver to be relieved, could Northern have given Blackpool Drivers a Route Learner to Carlisle?
