The Daily Mail has just revealed something interesting about its *cough* thorough *cough* editing.

Err....I don't watch it but I reckon most British people have a vague idea that EastEnders is a BBC production.

A source told the Daily Mirror:

I am sure that if our forum members were to report such a glaring mistake each time that one appeared in the press, that there would not just be a thread, but a whole sub-forum of threads on the matter, which should be there to query the role played by sub-editors.

I remember when the prison riot was at HMP Strangeways and some prisoners were sitting on the roof in protest. There had been vengeance inside from some prisoners upon other inmates and the Manchester Evening News hearing a rumour went to press with a banner headline stating .... 2 0 D E A D .... which was a total fallacy. Even today, the paper does not like being reminded of its error.
