dads poster

Hi...am new here.....i need to know about a poster called clear road ahead by terence cuneo.... my dad recently passed away and i found it in his drawer,,no one knows where it came from or what it is... a man on ebay has offered me £225 and he has onle seen a couple of pics....please help me:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: :newb: LOL jacs

Hi tom... yes thats the one....any ideas on finding out if its worth anything
i might even have it framed and keep it but its huge...maybe i can cut it down abit...what do you think:idea: :scratch: jacs

I've seen signed Cuneo prints selling for that kind of money; £225 doesn't seem unreasonable ( http://www.prorail.co.uk/auctions/solent/sol0303c.htm quotes £140, albeit a few years ago). If it's unsigned, take the money and run! Unsigned prints can be bought (depending on size, condition, framing etc) for anything from a fiver upwards.

hi Denis...thanx for info.... it is signed and apparently from 1949... think i will give him a e-mail tomoro.....he says it will cost him£200 plus to do it up and then it will be worth £500....£600.....thanx jacs

You could always put a reserve at the price he's offered and publicity in their catalogue would ensure many Cuneo fans would get to see it. If Matey still wants it he can bid against the rest.

i just wanted to say thanx for all the help and advice that i have had from this forum...... i am rather ashamed to say untill now i just could not understand what anybody could find interesting about trains... but after looking at all the different sites that i have been given and those i have found myself.....i just have to say it is far more interesting than i could ever have imagined....so thanx alot...will keep you updated on what happens to my dads poster..lol jacs

maybe not quite a convert...but def found it a far more interesting subject, than i would ever have thought it could be.. i have even done research on the poster myself...and believe me with my knowledge of the internet ...that is amazing, but i found some of the train/railway site more than interesting
