Czech railway help please

My daughter is currently travelling around Europe and had to travel from Berlin to Prague by bus today as her train service was cancelled at the last moment. She is scheduled to travel to Krakow on Saturday (7th) and is worried that there may be an issue that might prevent this.

I know nothing about Czech railways so can anyone suggest whether there is an issue with the lines near Prague or is she worrying about it too much?

I can't see any visible issues around Prague at the moment. It's worth downloading the "Můj Vlak" app (available in English) which is the official app of Czech Railways, to keep an eye on things.

Subsequent Berlin to Prague trains look to be running fine (at least within the Czech Republic) so it was either an issue in Germany (such as lack of staff - common at the moment) or a one-off.

Your daughter won't be forced to get a bus or abandoned - so I wouldn't worry.

What train? the circuit looks like it’s running well this evening online. EC177 on time well into Czecho, EC179 is 6L in Germany according to the mapper.

Thanks both. She is not a seasoned traveller and DB have already let her down twice. She was on the 09.15 from Berlin Hb this morning, the next train was fully booked so she ended up on a bus. Don't know all the ins and outs but she is not going back to Germany so hopefully all her other trains will be OK.

I will have a look at the app though to see her through Czechia.

Use the Muj Vlak app or go to a help desk. CD have a few, I can recall seeing one a few weeks back while I was in Prague hl.n myself.

Reservations for that train are optional and if you're alone, you can almost always find a seat. Seats may still be available, but not the same seat anymore for the whole journey.
I'd probably have taken the 10:26 to Dresden and board the next train to Prague there, and in the mean time try to book a reservation from Dresden (or from a station in Czechia), to be sure of a seat for at least part of the journey.
Or did DB provide a bus? (Not that I'd be a fan of that...)

Thanks for the reply rvdborgt. I am not sure of exactly what went on as my daughter is Interrailling and only in contact infrequently. However, she got to Prague and was just concerned about her next trip. She has had issues with both DB services she has been on but her time in Germany is now done. Onwards to Poland and Hungary next.

EC 173 started in Děčín today, citing a technical malfunction:

So that's why there was no train this morning from Berlin. Might have been a problem with the carriages or the locomotive. Not necessarily a DB problem.
Vagonweb has the real composition of these trains and also tells us that EC 172 was refused yesterday by DB staff because of door failures on several carriages:
