does anyone have the timings for this as to when it is expected to get to margam?.

i have booked a day off work so i will either be at margam or tondu.

37401 is due on this tour after a slight touch up on paint....

670 is expecting a transfer over to Wigan for Pressure tests and not expected to be available for 2/3 weeks...also a small matter of lack of electrical equipment i.e OTMR

60026 is earmarked, 60062 might be a surprise...054 is currently working robeston-westerleigh tankers and return and is the only operational Tug in South Wales at the present moment:roll:

Since when?
It left Margam back in April last year DIT up to Doncaster then forwarded onto Knottingley without OTMR.....unless the lads up there fitted one which is highly unlikely then it hasn't got it;)

If that is the case, I'm struggling to see the benefit of reinstating 670 over say 410/425 which don't have Q-tron/OTMR and are pretty much ready to roll (unlike 670 which requires a lift). In addition, I'm reliably informed Q-tron is no longer manufactured as a system and I very much doubt DB would sanction the cost of a one off fitment of an alternative system such as Arrowvale...

Phoenix; numerous EWS locos were fitted with Q-tron as it was a company requirement long before the OTMR rules came into force.

i believe 37425 has been booked to work a gala somewhere on saturdays, although wouldnt 37411 be able to work this trip if it is re-instated since it belive it is OTMR fitted?.

how come it takes at least 50 minutes from margam to tondu, i know freights only take 25 minutes?

37411 has notices on the cab desks saying 'Power Unit Defective, Do Not Start.' Sums it up really...

A 60 is in charge.....dont expect much:lol:

37425 was in a convoy today along with 60059,67008 and 66144 for the Mid Norfolk Diesel gala
37411 has got metal particles in the oil due to the bottom end bearing had gone in the engine.....similar fate with 37417 and 422 which is also suffering from Engine defects....

37401 and 37406 are allocated on this tour.37406 required repaires and is touch and go if it will make it.A 67 is on standby. DBS staff have worked their socks of to get 406 ready.The class 60 hopefully will be ready.The O8 is ready for the East Usk to Uskmouth powerstation section.ECS head code is 5Z37,train is 1Z37.

The South Wales leg of the tour went well.37406 had a problem at Eastleigh and was not ready in time.It was planned to send it light engine to Wales and catch up with 401.:(
The O8 went well up to uskmouth and came back no problem.401 kept good timings inspite of a minor engine problem.The 60 also behaved itself.It returned to Margam with 66178 and 66069.
