Passed my interview and assessment but FCC have put me 'on hold'. I'm not sure whether this is a good or a bad thing.

Can anyone shed some light on this.

p.s I'm relatively new to this forum, thanks for your help

Welcome. I have no knowledge of FCC, but when my (non rail) organisation does this it is usually the post itself that has been put on hold, rather than an individual.

Have you tried to get clarification from them?

spoke to them briefly and they just advised me that I've been placed on hold until a position in your chosen train station becomes available.

My issue is why would they do assessments if there wasn't no available positions

I can think of several explanations that may possibly apply.

1. They may have been expecting an employee to move on/retire, but they have now indicated they wish to continue working.

2. The finance department has vetoed further recruitment at a late stage.

3. The vacancy has been filled by someone on compassionate grounds 9perhaps medical) and a vacany has arisen elsewhere instead.

Or, it could simply be that the company wants to have a pool of ready to hire applicants who they can start at relatively short notice should they need to.
