Customer Host FGW

Hey everyone, I applied for a customer host post with FGW 2 weeks ago based at the swansea station. Ive been told by a friend that works there that some people have already been told that they have been unsuccessful, as mine is still 'awaiting shortlisting', does that mean theres a good chance that ill be asked for an assessment? Do FGW usually tell the people who are unsuccessful first?

If I am successful, what would I expect to happen at assessment/ interview?

Trust me buddy, you won't hear anything for a while. If you read over this forum a bit, you'll come to see that First Group's HR leaves a lot to be desired!!

Yeah but surely if they have already told some people they were unsuccessful that could mean that as they have not told me yet it could be a good sign?

Maybe, maybe not. The railway operates on gossip and rumour - some info is passed on deliberately even though it's wrong!

Another possibility is that FGW HR is informing people as they go along whether their application is successful or not, and they haven't reached yours.

Either way, try not to think about it too much. There's nothing you can do except wait and see.

If yours, like mine, closed on the same date, I'm emailing them this week. Mine was also for Swansea - albeit a shunter at landore as opposed to a CH

EDIT - by same date, I meant Friday the 22nd Feb. I am sorry. I am feeling a bit special today...
