wondered how much these typically cost fr a double decker bus for a mate of mine... was thinking of DIYing it and getting some thick lining paper, painting it all black on one side and using vinyl letters on it... any ideas??

Dont paint it all black because the light wont shine through it.
The best way is to draw the letters out or place the stickers on (not as good) and paint around them, that way the backlight will work.

The way they are produced for the industry is screen printed on linen. The linen is white and the outline of the letters is screen printed using black screen ink (not paint!)

Incidentally, a couple of years ago, Selfridges in Birmingham were selling framed, single destinations which had been cut from old Birmingham Corporation blinds, for £50 a time!
