What are the current Plastic Pig diagrams? The thread has not been updated since last year.

The latest rumours were that they would not return to traffic until they are retractioned, which would make even a December return seem unlikely.

The September timetable is not a return to normal, AIUI the Portsmouth direct will still be 2/3 service (2tph vice 3). From what I've seen, commuter demand has pretty much collapsed, so no need for the peak extras the 442s were providing.

Since they were only supposed to be a temporary fleet anyway, how long will it be before SWR decide they're no longer worth spending more money on?

Seems that their future is secure for now.

At the end of last year they received their exemption from fully meeting requirements for PRM accessibility until franchise end in August 2024 while on SWR metals.

The retraction programme is currently in progress as the other thread plots their trips to and from Bournemouth and Wolverton.

The separate contract for the replacement of drivers cab desks has been awarded and work started.

Seems all the money and contracts for work were awarded so it ploughs on.

Won't be back in passenger service as DC traction and doubt they'll be back until mid next year at the earliest tbh as demand for them not really there.

There are a few ECS trips between Poole and Brockenhurst a few days each week for crew refresh , always units 10 & 20 but believe next week is the last . Look for 5Q24 on RTT though last bit from branksome to Poole doesn't usually run.
