Cumbrian coast express-diagram 1 or 2?

Hello all.
Before this gets moved to somewhere that will never be found again (!!, I am thinking of doing the Cumbrian coast class 37 hauled service next Thursday or Friday (28th or 29th July).
There are two diagrams-each alternate days, so how on earth do you know what diagram is what day in advance?!!
I am trying to get a plan and timetable together in advance so if anyone can kindly advise then I would be very greatful.
I have recently had heart surgery and this is my first trip out during recovery.

Aren't there two sets? If that's the case then I guess that one set will operate Diagram 1 one day and the 2 the next, while the other would work vice-versa. So both diagrams would operate on each day.

Correct. Both operate each day (problems aside!) with one starting in Carlisle and finishing in Barrow and the other starting in Barrow and finishing in Carlisle meaning that the 2 sets flip between diagrams each day. So what ever set works Diagram 1 then is in position to work diagram 2 the next day.

It's also worth noting that 2C49 Barrow to Carlisle now departs 2 minutes later at 11.40 giving a little extra time if connecting from the 2C47 Preston to Barrow service.

Hi guys
I know I'm a pain keep asking questions(!) but just wondered if 37403 is doing the Cumbrian Coast run tomorrow or Friday yet? Hoping to get 401 or 403 on the 14.37 off Barrow on one of these days.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

402 and 409 were out yesterday. However 402 was failed last night and 409 failed today (and was rescued by 403) so what happens tomorrow is anyone's guess.

Apparently passengers were evacuated from 2C34 before the cavalry in the shape of 37403 turned up.

Was up in Carlisle on Tues, while awaiting my train I noticed 409 leaving for Barrow (1737) it didn't sound in the best of health, I'm not surprised it unfortunately failed. Brought memories back, albeit it was in push mode.
Would've thought such operations would be an absolute perfect fit for the settle Carlisle route?. Potentially marketable as well?. Just thinking out loud.

Yesterday (27 th July) showed how vulnerable the Cumbrian Coast line is to a loco failure..when 409 expired north of Workington on the 14.35 ex Carlisle the following 2 southbound services were cancelled and the next service(17.37 ex Carlisle finished up 37 late at Barrow.This meant a gap at Foxfield from 14.57 until 20.44...northbound the 17.31 ex barrow was also cancelled resulting in a very full 18.30 153 single unit .My intended journey back to Manchester on the 16.56 ex Foxfield turned into an epic via Carlisle on the 18.47 ..by which time the beneficial effects of the Tiny Rebel in the Prince of Wales had long since worn off

I am going to do it tomorrow but holding out to find out what will be on the 14.37 off Barrow. I'm coming from London so any help to know would be great.
Perhaps they can get more reliable locomotives on the services-actually, have we got any?!! ??????

The 1004 Preston to Barrow is the LH set with 37402 on the North end
