Cuffley season ticket advice

I now got a job two minutes away from Cuffley station, and I would need to make the commute from my home five days a week. Here's the route I'm going to take:

-TfL bus to Arnos Grove
-Piccadilly Line to Bounds Green
-OSI with Bowes Park, and take GN to Cuffley

What is the best value weekly season ticket for this route? I can't find a Boundary Zone 4 to Cuffley as a season ticket on BRFares, and I need to cover the bus journey to and from Arnos Grove as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Serious question - rather than bus to Arnos Grove, tube Bounds Green and then walk to Bowes Park - is there no bus that can get you straight to Palmers Green, Bowes Park or Ally Pally?

Just using the tube for 1 stop like that almost feels like the old 'by the time you've got to down to the platform, waited, travelled one stop, and got out the station' it would have been quicker to walk.

I would have thought that the ticket office at Palmers Green, Bowes Park or Ally Pally (or any other National Rail ticket office) should be able to sell you a Travelcard for the relevant zones plus add-on to Cuffley.

Not sure whether that, or a separate weekly or monthly London bus pass and a rail season ticket, would work out better value, though.

Back in 1999-2000 I used to commute from Putney to Swanley. At that time Swanley was the first station outside the Travelcard area (it is now in Zone 8, though), so I used to buy a weekly all-zone Travelcard with add-on to Swanley.

Why not just New Southgate to Cuffley at £36.30. Single change at Alexandra Palace. This is presuming you are within walking distance of New Southgate station; from memory, having lived there many moons, ago it's not that big.

At a stretch, the 34 bus gets me to Green Lanes which is a not-so-good walk to Palmers Green. But otherwise, no.

It's a 20 minutes walk to New Southgate, which may not always be ideal due to the occasional bad weather.

What you are after is a Cuffley to London Zones 4-6 ticket. It's £37.20 a week. Obviously, you cannot use that south of Bounds Green or Bowes Park in zones 1, 2 or 3*.

*Unless you are travelling on a permitted route between Cuffley and a station at the edge of zones 4 or 6 - but that seems unlikely in your case

I live in the area and I wouldn't use the route that includes the tube from Arnos Grove to Bounds Green. The walk from there to Bowes Park is probably 5 minutes vs 10 minutes for the walk from the corner of the A406 and Green Lanes but the peak service on the Hertford Loop includes several semi-fast trains to Cuffley that don't stop at Bowes Park but do stop at Palmers Green.

If the weather is bad you can always use the 121 bus to avoid the walk up Green Lanes; if the weather is nice you can take the scenic route through Arnos Park and Broomfield Park in about 20 minutes - I see several people who do this in the opposite direction every day.

I'd suggest you try the different options and see which works best in practice.

I haven't got time to check, but what about a Bus and Tram pass + NR season if you don't use the Piccadilly line (or only on bad weather days)
