There used to be a lot of 158's in CT livery but since LM took over, You dont seem to see much 158's in LM livery they are mostly in ATW. So what happened to the 158s?

They are all with East Midlands Trains and are refurbished and they don't get to Birmingham any more.

I would prefer travelling on a 158 than the ugly 150/153s that go along the Stourbridge Route.

158s are wasted on the Snow Hill routes, its too slow and has too many stops. 150s are perfect for it.

I agree, the routes the ex CT 158's are used on now are much better suited, the Liverpool-Norwich is much better suited for 158's, and with Northern Settle-Carlisle, York-Blackpool, Leeds-Nottingham.

As a daily commuter on the Snow Hill routes I can assure you all that they are not perfect!!!!!! and before someone comes back with the standard repost you can keep your Pacers!

158s during Central were usually seen up in Nottingham. 150s have been on the Snow Hills during CT. Why re-train crews, shift diagrams and cause more problems when you can leave everything as it is and just change the paint?

Plus LM got the 170s, which are more suited to the sort of work they do than 158s, especially as LMs diesel services are mostly fairly short distance suburban runs. 158s are an Express unit, their end doors (which arn't exactly the fastest to operate) make them poorly suited to suburban work.
