Similar to a cryptic crossword, although much easier to make up than actually do! Try and find the stations from the clues. To make it a bit easier they are stations north of Grantham and south of Berwick, and near to the ECML (or are actually on it). May also be on light rail.

1) Mafia Sugar
2) What someone may ask if they require additional bits in their orange juice
3) Ocean trotter
4) An item subterranean
5) 3rd degree injury caused by sodium chloride
6) Country estates
7) Rouge 4 wheel vehicle in the middle
8} Rabbit's home in centre
9) Big River's gob

Bonus points for anyone who gets this and can explain it:

10) Town of the white stag a la piscine, made famous by a french monkey.

I believe number ten is hartlepool, and it is referring to their alleged drowning a french monkey as a suspected spy. The piscine part, amounts to the pool part of hartlepool. :)

Nearly there, what about the white stag?
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
And the monkey was hanged and not drowned as well!

Sorry, I meant to say hung, i'm very tired this morning. :) I think hart is an old english word for deer or perhaps more pertinently, stag, i'm not sure, I think it may be a heraldic term.

I've just spent well over an hour trying to puzzle this out, has it got anything to do with ham and chips? Chippenham
