Yes indeed - Carnforth is right. Elements referred to the letters of "chart for", and N for nitrogen. I might, perhaps, have added something like "before compiling" at the end to make it more obvious that it was an anagram but that's not necessary now.
I'm not too confident about the latest one. I started by looking for names with "ham" in, but nothing seemed too likely. Then it occurred to me that it might just be Swineshead (ness means headland). I'm not certain enough to post another.

I had another think and came up with Wickham, which looked very possible until I checked and found out that the name is Wickham Market. Damn!
So I'll go for Topsham.

Beyond Inverness is the Far North as denoted by the Far North line, so Farn, and the ham is beyond that. I'm actually wondering if I should have constructed the clue the other way round though.
