Driver Calthrop? Signal's off, get your rather well stocked train full of vocabulary and wonderful words moving and back onto the cryptic main line :)

Oh, crumbs -- sorry, folks ! Felt myself to be, basically, "in the doghouse" over this one; have only just looked afresh. Things being as they are -- I'll resurrect it (though feeling it to be rather daft -- and verbose) -- being definitely no computer genius, won't try to mess with previous typography, but will just re-type it...

Blood-and-thunder stuff to console this station for being the least-used in its county -- imagine James Bond encouraging his boss, captured by the bad guys -- as befits spy fiction, coded: respond with kack, M !

You weren't in the doghouse it's just that I'm a bit of a stickler for correct procedure also there have been several occasions when I was sure that I or someone else had the right answer only to find I was mistaken.

OK here's a Calthrop-style clue:

So I went to see 40012 Aureol on the East Lancs Railway.

Verdict:

"EE Namer, rusty old branch!"

If we were doing this puzzle before April 1964, I'd suggest Rodmarton on the Kemble -- Tetbury branch: anglers could mar a ton of them with their rods ...
