Nothing for two days: for the sake of coming up with "something" -- a highly desperate-and-ridiculous one.

"Initially beating" a name beginning with T: I interpret that, as indicating a name which has to be composed of letters all coming earlier in the alphabet, than T. "MERGER" fulfils that requirement -- and comes close in meaning, to "mix". I'm seeing " Mix up", as signifying an anagram ("up"): of a word basically meaning "mix". "Merger" can be anagrammatised in turn, into "MERE GR." = Mere Green, a suburb on the northernmost edge of the Birmingham conurbation, which has never had a railway station; but it closely adjoins the suburb of Four Oaks, which does have one (on the Lichfield -- Birmingham -- Redditch route). So I'm submitting Four Oaks, as the answer.
