Also the first syllable is pronounced 'High'....so sounds like the opposite of low.

North East indicates the region in which the station is situated but not, of course in NE Germany. That part was a red herring!

The clue doesn't say "low" (not high) it says "not low-lying" , i.e. "high" and where does "eine" come from?

By implication, 'not low-lying' means 'high', but maybe I could have worded it better and put 'low-lying' instead. It's a bit of a clash between the 'sounds like' and 'anagram' aspects.
