That's right, your turn...Lewisham?
That's right, your turn...Lewisham?
And let's not even get into the argument as to whether it's Porridge or Porage!!!
That's the one. Well done!Arnos Grove?
Thanks.
We might read this one, as an unkind donkey-owner's instructions to his animal; which is, on a swelteringly hot day, hauling a device for cutting down high-standing vegetation.

Pulborough? As in Pull burro? Though not sure where the vegetation device comes in?
Ingenious thought; but, sorry, no. No Iberian, or other outlandish, tongues involved; and the device / its purpose, are indeed relevant.
Hint: there is involved, something that donkeys do; which tends to come prominently to mind when one thinks of the beasts.

Melton Mowbray?
Braystones?
We all have our favourite Knock, knock jokes. Here's another one:-
Knock, knock! Who's there? The first woman to knock on this particular door!
I am leading you astray once again, Sir! The first woman isn't an Eve - she's a Sarah!!I don't see how-come; but -- "the first woman" -- with Evenwood, Evercreech and its Junction, Everingham, and Evershot all being closed and thus denied to us: Evesham?
Think of stations with a political bent! And alas, I'm none the wiser ...
No, sorry. The answer is actually much less devious than the clue. Think Palace of Westminster!Redditch? To[r]re[y]?
Think Palace of Westminster and knock, knock, knock!!Oi don't think Oi be going' to get anywheres yere, Master -- politics essentially not my thing !
Think Palace of Westminster and knock, knock, knock!!
That's the one! And for those arriving for the afternoon shift:-Blackrod
Next clue:-
In certain parts of Scotland, somewhere for Sean to sit down. Elsewhere, sounds like something you would call the referee after a dodgy penalty award.
Frantic scratching-around: Johnstone (Renfrewshire)?? The famous Stone of Scone, ceremonial seat of Scottish kings: in its "seat" sense, something for Sean = John, to sit on. "Johnson" (nearly the same) being, as I understand, a U.S. colloquialism for the male reproductive organ: if annoyed with the ref, you might -- especially if you were American --call him a "johnson" ...
@Caboose Class -- your exposition (these Forums' "Quote" mechanism often defeats me): I was aware of the office of Black Rod and the attendant ritual; but wouldn't have known Sarah Clarke from the M'babwa of M'gonkawiwi.
Sanquhar (Seanchair) - sorry, had to Google it. The ref bit - replace s with w?
Pantyffynnon?A few of us had a lot of fun yesterday with a "breakfast cereal" clue which I set. Here is another one:-
Great Western Railway found in my Shreddies
Beats me where that came from!! But it's not right.Pantyffynnon?
