The answer is Broadstairs.
Both Ross (from Friends) and Dirk Gently (a character from a couple of Douglas Adams books) had issues with a sofa stuck in a bend of some narrow stairs.

OK, here's the answer.
If you take an "a" and rotate it you end up with an "e", so that's the distortion so "hair" becomes "heir". Now usually it's our children, so can be "son".
Small extension of water = "pond".
You all now know where this is going
:s(pond)on is the answer.
P.S. The nappies were a hint to our children's younger ages.

A quick five puzzlers on station names if I may? All national rail (not major - you need to know your railway geography). All are currently open to passengers.

Would suggest one item at a time. However, this 5 x puzzler might find interest.
I'll go with Thatcham for number 2. "Hat" and "match"
and for Taplow for number 3,
as well as Gunton for number 1,
Barelane for number 4 (though might be "bare" - for unadorned),
and to top it off, for number 5, Nitshill (considering lice as "nits").
