I doubt that it will -- I greatly suspect, weirdness strictly peculiar to me: about the well-known and venerable Skegness advertising gimmicks. The poster of the Jolly Fisherman, in his sou'wester and oilskins, bounding along the beach -- he's the reverse of sad; and he's a fisherman, so not very far removed from a sailor = Jack (Tar). And the accompanying slogan, "Skegness is so bracing" -- "bracing" and "thrilling" have kind-of-similar connotations ... as I said, mighty far-fetched ...

Nowhere near as smart or detailed an answer as per @Calthrop but vaguely, Jack Black, pool, beach, pleasure, roller coaster can all be thrilling, in a throw-up kind of way (for me).

I feel something of an out-of-touch old fogey vis-a-vis the present habitues of "Cryptic Clues = Station Name" -- which has contributed to my not participating much, of late -- for instance, Jack Black (my bolding as above) means to me, only the puritanical cobbler in Under Milk Wood -- and I don't think it can be him, to whom you refer here ! Enquiring minds would be interested to know more ...

Naturally, my first reference to one 'Jack Black' was the aforementioned cobbler of Under Milk Wood fame... . However, for (potential) insurance I also included the 'Jack Black' who purports to be some sort of American actor, although I would be lying if I said I'd ever seen him perform.

So we're more on the same page than I thought ! Usually, including in this case, American actors are among the many things which I wot not of... "Tortured and convoluted reasoning"? -- connection with thrills: Thomas's character seemed to disapprove of anything and everything which was pleasurably thrilling; and presumably the actor guy specialises in giving audiences the scary kind of thrill...

A few years ago, the convention in this game was that only stations in the UK were permissible; thus, the Isle of Man was "out". However, my understanding is that that was by consensus, rather than set in stone in the rules: I've always felt that it would be good if places in Man, and in the Irish Republic, were eligible.

So: Happy Jack in the song, lived in the sand on the Isle of Man, did he not? The TT races there, are thrilling for those who like that sort of thing; and the course of same, runs right by The Bungalow halt on the Snaefell Mountain Railway (well inland, in the island context). So I'm guessing: The Bungalow.
