In the absence of a clue (but if you are in the process of creating one, I'll remove mine):

The end of this North London road is missing.

Slight edit: replaced 'my' with 'this' as the answer doesn't belong to me.

It really could be Green Lane as the criteria fits but it isn't (to those who don't know the area, Green Lanes is a long and well-known North London thoroughfare).

Barnetby?

Well done, the floor is yours.

Clue 1: The North London Road is the Barnet by-pass, with the 'pass' the missing element.
Clue 2: Cockney rhyming slang for hair is 'Barnet' (Fayre). The operation, 'by-pass' not complete leaves 'by'.
Clue 3: Bar and net are parts of a goal, and the prefix-cum-suffix is of course 'by'.

Wool

given that sheep have wool on them, and a "wolf in sheep's clothing" could be said to be the definition of a transvestite wolf.

Dovercourt, given that one type of bird is a Dove, which is at the front of this East Anglian station.
