"The station which is the answer", is the junction for a short branch line. Close to "answer station", the main-line route which it's on, bridges a large-ish river which has considerable significance in the lore of that part of the world. In times gone by, our station was about five miles, and ten miles, away -- in different directions -- from two different, delightful narrow-gauge lines, one electric and the other steam: these abandoned, regrettably, nearly seventy years ago.
