Llantwit Major

The winner is .................... Mr Blobby from Clwyd

50 in Roman numerals is L so fifty-fifty = Ll
an = an
idiot = twit
dull, sad, bland politician = Major

Put them all together and you get Dyffryn Ardudwy Llantwit Major

Your turn me123...

Thanks. As a change from present-day politics:

“Sir !” Dr. Samuel Johnson, addressing person whom he had tried with little success, to instruct (and owing to excessive claret-intake, somewhat fuddled), yell’d: “Vile fitch -- learnt?”

Looks awfully like an anagram of Lichfield Trent Valley to me.
Open floor, when confirmed.

Correct (Dr. Johnson being Lichfield's most famous son, I figured that that might be a hint).

I am missing the link with Dyffryn Ardudwy?

Sorry ! As the illiberal Dr. J. might have said -- the Taffs and their barbarous jargon, are not in question here.

As per Seacook -- open floor.

That type points - not! which reversed at this station.

Sorry, this is such a bad clue, which I've revised about ten times in the last fifteen minutes, I'll give another. They are different stations, and either will be correct.

We heard that he looks at a horrible tasting vegetable

A better clue for the first station would be:

You get them on FB, confusingly. Not bothered.

Right both times Dale:

That type = ilk
Points (of the compass) = E, S
Not, reversed = ton

You get them on FB = likes
Confusingly = anagram= ilkes
Not bothered = anagram = ton

We heard = sounds like
Looks at = sees
Horrible tasting vegetable = kale

All yours!

I'm going to try something a bit different this time, I hope it works:

This was seen in the station's pub:
