Bordesley?

Deleted. Sorry.![]()
I'm coming up empty with synonyms, I fear. Utterly loopy suggestion, just to keep the pot from going stone-cold: a place which has featured here before: Maybole. Signals (especially if green) = you MAY proceed; and "BOLE"- [bowl]-ing green  ????
It's much more straightforward than that, in fact it's difficult to conceive of anything less straightforward than that.
Un-straightforward is my SOP: I'll kick myself when I learn the answer to your signals-on-green jobbie, but I'll never get it.
Beaconsfield. Open floor if correct.
Just to attempt answering, with something: mental process to get there, politically incorrect, and I'm sure it's not the station you have in mind: Chichester???
Dale, all your clues are carefully worded!
Quite so. It is Caerphilly, is it not. A bit cheesy but a good clue. All the more reason to wonder why I would use that word to describe this one in particular.

Open floor.
I was just about to give another hint but no need, you've got it. Open floor...
Stipulated -- I'm thick: but I remain totally bemused. Might I beg for an explanation?
