Very much "taking a flyer" -- Grosmont?? (the place continues to grow better, and its merits mount up...)

Yet another hint:

This is an edited extract from the station's Wikipedia page.

*** railway station serves the village of *** in *** *** ***shire, England. It was opened on 1 April 1881 by the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by Northern.

Gainsborough Central?? ("Gains" being a verb, present tense.) This one is feeling, for me, somewhat beating-head-against-brick-wall-like.

I wouldn't call Gainsborough a village. If you insist on beating your head against a brick wall think what will happen to the cuts and bruises after a few days.

Renton is a station in Dunbartonshire in Scotland, and is also one of the characters in the film "Trainspotting".
