What about Lingfield.

There was a giant panda called Ling Ling who died in 2008.

We're looking considerably further back in time (I suspect that not for the first time, I might be taking a bit of unfair advantage from being an elderly gent). The animal concerned lived -- in Britain -- some three-quarters of a century ago. Its name was the same as that of an imperial dynasty in the species's country of origin.

I understand the Campaign for Better Transport have listed the Skipton to Grassington line as one which they wish to see re-opened to passenger traffic. Their slogan could be "Odd, no Grassington."
