It's all gone quiet, anybody got a contribution?

I'm away from home for a while -- parted largely from the Net, and totally from "paper" sources of information. Have no idea about HMS Ark Royal's horse feed / merriment / pig clue.

...anagram of horse is shore
...um,...ham from a pig....?
That's as far as i got, and I don't believe it was even close to the correct answer.

But, whilst we wait, here is another:
crazed proxy informants escorted by the fuzz

Please explain how to get from "crazed proxy informants" to "Meols".

I've got it now, it's nothing to do with worms is it?

Yep, no worms involved. Not sure if that was a bit of misdirection from BurtonM.

Proxy informants would be moles.
Crazed moles would be Meols
The fuzz being Cop,
with Cop escorting Meols, resulting in Meols Cop :)

I had a horrible suspicion this was going to involve an indirect anagram.

I... uh.. didn't expect that. I got 'cop', but confused 'mole' with 'worm' and yet somehow still got the right answer by vague association. Being from greater Manchester put Meols Cop at the front of my mind too.
Open floor!
