Personally, i would not have thought to split earthworks.
When i looked at the northern stations with three parts i couldnt make any of them fit. But thats the challenge with being cryptic :)

Farmers are 1.59 times more likely than normals to be alcoholics, so a farmer might well do Shotts. Probably for breakfast.

Ok, since I can't think of a station that sounds like 'hate townies', perhaps the farmer grows grapes? In which case he might errr -
