Looking at this trip for a friend + a child, who travel around 40 times/year on a Saturday. Up until now they have been using the Northern Advance tickets that have been pulled after 21 May and need to figure out the cheapest way of making the journey.
Metro Crumpsall to Piccadilly £3 + £1.20 (Family Ticket £4.30)
Piccadilly to Goostrey CDR £10.50 + £5.25 = £15.75
Buying a F&F Railcard brings the CDR down to £8.95, payback in 4 weeks. Total trip cost with railcard = £13.15
Am I missing any passes or tricks here? It is possible to split at Wilmslow on advances, but the saving is only 40p without a railcard. Wayfarers would be £12+£6, before the upcoming rise.
Feel free to PM me if there's something that would be cheaper but you don't want to publicise.
