Hi,

Just working through an example in the routeing guide and wanted to check I'd got this right:

Whyteleafe to Clapham Junction

Route = any permitted.

Whytleafe has routeing points Redhill and Croydon.

Redhill does not pass the fares test, Croydon does.

So I look up routes Croydon to Clapham Junction giving me map SC.

Map SC I can trace via New Cross Gate in to London Bridge, Waterloo East, Waterloo and back to Clapham Junction giving masses of route options.

Have I missed something here?

Looks fine. NRE even validates it by saying you can do it on one ticket (specify via WAE).
Expect the permitted routes to be changed if too much attention is drawn to this, as it undercuts the fare to London Terminals

Thanks. Having an origin station not a routeing point is new for me, so good to know I did it right!

Hi,

I was just looking at the route mentioned above - I work for swt and have a season ticket between Croydon and Clapham. Anyway, when I look at the map SC it doesn't show what the OP says... (I.e. That the ticket is valid via Waterloo East) Have I missed something or done something wrong. It would be nice to have an alternative route back from Waterloo if required. With evidence that it is valid.

Thanks

p.s. The southern railway website allows this route with a ticket price of £4 - that's the ticket that I used to buy between clapham and Croydon (single).

Please help!!!

Map SC hasn't changed and NRE still validates this.
Remember that London Bridge, Waterloo East and Waterloo are all members of the Routeing Group, so are grouped together behind a green square on the map which represents the whole group.
