For someone who traveling to London now and again and parks at Watford "Met" Station and gets the tube into London this is great news
Its a bit of a walk from the tube station to the town centre and I know this idea has been on the cards.
Also as a footie fan glad they are opening a station near Watford FC as this will be much better for travelling fans

That's a very good idea actually. It'd be better to do it to Watford junction, but the low usage of the north curve is stupid. They might aswell lift the tracks seeing as they run one train per day on it.

Sure I read (probably on here!) that Chesham will get 2tph direct to Baker St/Aldgate when the new stock comes in, with Amersham dropping from 4tph to 2tph as a result.
At a guess this is to save needing a 4-car branch set so the new stock can all be 8 car with no centre cabs, or however long it is going to be?

They've been talking about reducing them to seven cars because the new trains are longer and don't fit into most platforms. And yes, wonderful Chesham is getting 2TPH to aldgate, but I don't see it being nessecary. It's nice to have the shuttle because you get to sit and have a chat with the driver before the train sets off. You can often get a cab ride with the friendly drivers too.
I think were was a plan that the District, H&C and Circle/Teacup sets would be seven cars, but I'd also seen indications that that had been dropped in favour of an entirely EIGHT car fleet with some form of SDO (after all, SDO is in limited use on some tube lines)
Even with just 7 cars SDO will be required on some parts of the Circle/H&C, and I don't think 8 cars will be physically possible, due to junctions, signalling sections and so on.
