Hi everyone, I hope you can help. I have passed all my assessments/interviews and medical for Crossrail and will begin training as a trainee driver in April next year. Does anyone have a breakdown of the training hours, periods for each part etc?

The reason I ask is because my partner currently works full-time whilst I have been the house husband. When I go back to work we are wondering whether she will be able to work part-time or not as we have 3 children, 1 of which won't be starting school until Sept 2017.

Thanks in advance

I believe it will be 9-5 whilst classroom based but once you start going out in the train you will then shadow a driving instructor therefore following his /hers shift pattern so hard to say untill nearer the time .im starting early next year aswell but still waiting for referencing to come back ! How long did yours take before you got the NOD and the contraxt

The medical involves a hearing and eye sight test aswell as colour blindness .movement excerices and ECG check .drugs and alcohol test and the usaual questions about your health etc then that pretty much it .you just need to be calm for the blood pressure test as mine was high due to nerves and she kept telling me to relax but easier said then done when you need to pass the medical .hearing test I found quite difficult aswell but passed it all so happy days

Hi, I haven't had the docs for CRB or references yet but can't imagine they will throw up any problems. I had a CRB done a year ago when I was volunteering in my son's school and my referees should be fine.

What's your start date Leebob? I'm 4th of April
