CrossCountry strike 9 Sept

Hello,

We are planning a trip on 9 Sept involving CrossCountry. I am a bit confused as to what's going on with possible strike action.

On the RMT website (https://www.rmt.org.uk/news/crosscountry-rail-staff-take-strike-action/) - it says there is a dispute over working conditions at CrossCountry specifically (not involving other operators), and they striking on 4 consecutive Saturdays starting 19 August (ie the 9 Sept strike is the 4th and final planned strike day).

However, on the CrossCountry website (https://www.crosscountrytrains.co.u...tion/changes-to-train-times/industrial-action) - it describes strikes on 26 August and 2 September as "national" (which I would take to mean involves other operators), and it is only the 9 September strike that is specific to CrossCountry.

The reason for asking is that on 19 August (the first of the 4 strike days according to RMT), most of the trains I am interested in still ran, according to RealTimeTrains. So I'm trying to gauge whether it's reasonable to expect the same on 9 September, or whether this is a different dispute which staff may respond differently to.

If anyone is able to shed any light on this I would be very grateful.

Only XC services affected on 9th September. Actual services running to be confirmed - usually about 5-7 days beforehand on their website. All other TOCs unaffected.

Same dispute, but a dispute which is a little more likely to see fewer traincrew supporting the strike compared to the national strikes given the somewhat niche nature of the dispute.

Not true technically. All XC RMT members will walk out. Other TOCs unaffected so it’s not about “support” as such..

Thank you both for your help. I guess what I'm trying to gauge is whether XC services running on 9 Sept are likely to be similar to what ran on 19 August or is planned for 26 August. I realise the short answer is we don't know but am just trying to get a feel.

It’s very likely to be identical to the service that ran last Saturday.
