I'm looking to buy an advance fare for a Leeds - Birmingham journey on a Saturday in March.

I've found that this service which leaves Leeds at 11:11 is supposedly booked for a HST on Saturdays:

1V54 0700 Glasgow Central-Plymouth

However, when I look at the seating map where you can select your seats on XCs website it shows a Voyager?

Does anyone know whether it will be a Voyager or a HST?

As the GW line is closed between Taunton and Exeter every weekend in March, the normal diagramming won't apply and HSTs will be used differently. I suspect the HSTs will run south later, if they run at all, to pick up their normal northbound working at Taunton, or wherever.

The 0700 Glasgow - Plymouth is normally a HST on Saturdays in order to operate 1E73 1723 Plymouth to Leeds, but due to engineering works as already stated above, it is not a HST.

Instead of this 1V60 0820 Aberdeen - Taunton is booked a HST, this enables it to work the return service that 1V54 would normally run from Taunton (1E73 1854 Taunton - Leeds).

A saturday service which is 90% guaranteed a HST even if engineering works are on is the 1211 (iirc) off Leeds to Penzance, much to my suprise and delight, happened a few weekends in a row when taunton diversions were on last year i think or it was the cheltenham diversions via Worcester!
The set goes down and forms a late night penzance - plymouth 2C51?... then back to Penzance early morning then a Penzance - Leeds on the sunday ready for an early morning start on Monday to Plymouth!<D

I've checked the crosscountry seatmap (ever so useful too :D) for the 14:11 off Leeds and this appears to be booked a HST.

However the 11:11 and 12:11 appear to be voyagers for the Saturdays in March.
