I've got one of the Crosscountry £10 offers that's got XCO to XCD but only one barcode is printed on a single ticket dated for tomorrow which intend to use for a return Plymouth to New Street for day two of test match at Edgbaston.

I got told it was definitely valid for a return journey as long as it's the same date, however I've heard conflicting information that they are only valid for a single journey and will be void once scanned on exiting gateline.

Can anyone clarify which is right please? As I've never used one before.
Thanks.

Sometimes an extra barcode is carefully hidden below if you scroll down, or flick to the left or right in the app.

Otherwise, I haven't seen a return ticket with a single barcode except for the flexi season ticket, but anything is possible with UK tickets. It depends on what the barcode says when it is scanned!

It wasn't bought by myself or by app so it won't appear in my XC app.

The email from the purchaser was just forwarded to me and I printed the PDF attachment which definitely only had one attachment and barcode. I do know that two of these tickets are definitely required if it's a return journey on different days, I've just heard a lot of conflicting things elsewhere whether they are valid for a same day return on the date printed on the ticket.

If it's the £10 friends and family ticket, it's one barcode for unlimited cross country travel ONLY for one day

Worry not and enjoy.

Thanks, that's what I was led to believe, and also the booking clerk at Plymouth happily reserved seats for both outward and return legs. Was just the conflicting information I heard this morning put me on edge a bit.
Yes the ticket was bought by a friend of a friend who is a cleaner so wasn't overly clued-up on validity other than two were required for a return on different days.

Definitely valid all day. It's just how the ticket has had to be setup to allow XC's website to sell it.
