Does anybody know what the diagrams are likely to be after the timetable change on Sunday? I am planning on making a couple of bookings down to the South West for February and would prefer to be on an HST.

As a rough guess, the ones which are normally dead-cert HSTs on a 'winter' weekday is the 06:00 Leeds - Plymouth (12:23 PLY -GLC) and the 06:06 Edinburgh - Plymouth (15:23 PLY - LDS). On a Monday or a Friday there has normally been an extra diagram - either the 06:32 York - Plymouth (13:23 PLY - EDB) or 06:32 Dundee -Plymouth (17:23 PLY - LDS).

The ones I'd bank on would be the diagrams that start in Edinburgh and Leeds at 6am. I obviously don't know for sure, but this would be an educated guess. Could also do some mock bookings on the XC website - If you can reserve a seat in coach E or G then it should be a HST (unless it's a doubled-voyager, to confuse things further!)

That's brilliant Adam, thanks for the information. I will make some mock bookings for the 0606 ex-Edinburgh, which is a reasonable time from Sheffield!

XC Voyagers never use E, even if doubled, so it's a surefire guarantee of an HST. (Also a double Voyager would go all the way to L.)

Ah ok, wasn't aware of that. Think I've only ever had a double voyager once, I don't actively seek them out!

On the second count - yes, it does, although it will show the train being a HST every weekday, even if it only is on the Monday or Friday etc. So if it's like the previous one, it will show 4 diagrams a day.

According to the xc booking engine, I am on a HST on the 29th December 1224 service from PLY to EDG, Getting off at BHM, so unless my reservation gets,moved, it will.be an hst

Its a Saturday, and sets off 1 minute later from the weekday diagrams, and finishes at EDG, as per the timetable changes

The weekday departure is now 1 minute later as well. That means from when HSTs were first reintroduced services now leave Plymouth 4 minutes later.

It still is I think, maybe just Friday Only on that Diagram, but I am not 100% sure
