Just a quick one, with doubled up Voyagers does anyone know what the arrangements are for catering? One trolley that swaps at a convenient station when there's a decent dwell? Two trolleys seems unlikely! What about first class? Just one host and hope you pick the right first class carriage?

At the moment it's very often one caterer in the front set doing Standard Class and ( if they are able to get through) First Class with usually just a Train Manager in the rear set - it just depends on staff availability on the day whether the train is fully crewed for catering in both sets.
I've been told it's always Coach A for first class catering, and that's matched my experience when travelling so far. I only learned that when I started to get on the "wrong" set and a staff member let me know there's no catering in that set today and I'd need Coach A instead!

"Are you planning to travel First Class with us during the week? Please reserve your seat in Coach A, Monday – Friday. Subject to availability on some services, First Class catering is only available in Coach A*. If you have already made a booking in First Class and have a seat reservation that is not in Coach A, please contact your original retailer to amend your seat reservation, if you booked through CrossCountry, you can contact our Customer Relations team."

In my case yesterday there was catering in the front set only but there was catering!

Of course, conversely, if you're not bothered about the (possible) catering, you can often spread out and get your choice of seats in the rear 1st coach.

Is there still no free alcohol in 1st Class and a catering embargo north of Edinburgh?
I travelled on the 0744 York-Sheffield today and there was one catering trolley in A and another in G.
I still went to A to be safe - where the offering was biscuits, crisps, juice or tea/coffee. Bacon rolls also available but they're still like this weird open secret where you have to know they exist in order to ask!
