Hi there what type of exam questions where presented, especially for the spatial awareness? Was it nets rotations reflections? And also was the job focused quite straight forward too?

Got mine too wanted to revise before I do it but I’ve seen other forums where people have completed closer to deadline but had their application closed.
Yes cube nets for spatial. And the job focused super straight forward. Out of a choice pick the most relevant answer to you

Has anyone applied for an xc role recently with a full recent pass of the psychometrics? Did you still have to do the online tests/assessments or did you go straight to DMI?
.
Hi, i applied for Bristol in early 25, got the spatial awareness tests sent in March some time. Got a call from XC at later end of July to book Psychometric testing in Manchester. I passed all tests and now wait for the next step. Does anyone know how long the next part is? Is it now a long waiting game? I haven't had a DMI yet. Also, ive seen so many different starting wages, does anyone know an up to date wage scale so I can see what i'd be on please and when it goes up? I dont mind what it is but I need to know for budgeting reasons. Many thanks.
.

Hi Trainlady71, Hope you are well. Just asking the same question as you regarding the DMI? Thank you :)
I'm guessing you're asking because ashe you're booked in from the October applications. If so when did you confirm it because I got a call on Thursday but missed it due to work and can't get back to them since, maybe gone on holiday or something?

Everything must go through him, I emailed recruitment as well and haven't had anything back from them.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear!, I have literally just been contacted by someone else from cross country and booked in for dmi so I would assume you will hear something shortly too.

Nothing yesterday for me. I'll be interviewing for a different depot to you so might be totally different but can you either message me so as not to dox yourself completely or give a general idea of when your interview is going to be?

Can anyone advise. I have an interview soon with cross country as an apprentice driver. Any specifics I should think about? If successful is the medical on another day? Thanks.

Anybody heard anything for derby? As in heard anything after the online assessments?
Just had the call today regarding the physcometrics, I'm booked in for Derby and Leicester, as I'm only 1 minute difference to each depot. got mine on friday the 8th. its right in the center of Manchester.

Hi all,

Anyone else starting a driver course this May?

Would be good to chat with a few people who’ll be in the same intake

Did you apply in February of this year?
I’m hoping that means things are starting to move forward again…

Hello all,

Some really useful information in this thread, and indeed on the wider forum - thanks to anyone that's sharing their experiences!

I have searched the forum, but have seen mixed comments over the last few years, and so I must ask - for the Birmingham/Derby/Leicester 2026 XC campaign, is the MMI definitely on the same day as the psychometrics (RCG, Manchester in this case)?

I ask as the only mention of the MMI I've seen throughout my application so far, is in the generic RACF preparation booklet, which is TOC agnostic and leans heavily on the words "may" and "if" when referring to the MMI!

Any help is massively appreciated :)
All on the same day, mmi is last thing you'll do on the day, unless you fail the paper based tests, in which case you'll be sent home at dinner time

As the above said. RCG in Manchester do it all on the same day. Our group split in Sept 25, 4 did paper tests first and others did computer. If you dont pass either of those then you don't do the next set. So if you fail paper then you don't sit computer and vice versa. Then if you pass both you sit the computer questions (situational questions) and then MMI in the later afternoon. You also get the outcome there and then. This is for Crosscountry. I have no idea on other TOCs

Anyone who did SHL assessment online for Cambridge did anyone heard back or not? I completed my one on 9-4-2026 but didn’t heard back anything.

Anyone who applied for Bristol back in June heard anything... I'm still pending. TIA!
I applied June 25. I have pmd you. I am still on pending as I think it stays like that from the moment you apply and get sifted through until you are either let go or start your training.
