If you've been applying for 6 years and not getting past the initial shift, my advice would be to make your CV more streamlined and easy to read for someone glancing at it (because that's what they'll do). Make sure a lot of the keywords they're looking for are easily found in a text.
I cut a lot of blurb and experience that didn't have any weight to the application and put "more experience can be requested".
Some people have pages of CV which they probably won't look through, mine was 1 page of A4 with anything relevant information right in their face.

Not as of yet, my application status still shows as pending.

I mean that would be nice lol but railway recruitment is notoriously slow... But to be told I've either passed or failed the online assessments would be nice! I'm holding out hope with it saying pending.

I would apply and do what you can and forget all about it until you hear something. I’ve been in the talent pool for a couple years now..

What depot are you in the talent pool for? When a job becomes available, do you have to jump through anyway hoops or is the job yous?

I just had a quick look through their message history. Leeds applicant from September 2023. All psychometrics, MMI and DMI done in the first few months of 2024 and talent pool ever since. So, when the job becomes available the only hoop should be the medical.
I'm in a similar position for Bristol.
Sept 23 applicants were invited to DMI first, then psychometrics / MMI, then the long wait for the vacancy for people at almost all depots. It looks like the 2025 applicants get sent to psychometrics first then DMI once they have a start date in mind for you.
