For anyone that's done the online spatial reasoning test, is it a bit like what's in the photo? There are so many different types of spatial reasoning test so I'm practicing everything but if someone could be a bit more specific it would be so helpful. Thanks!

Yes, that's pretty much what its like for the box questions. There are also ones where they rotate and flip objects too.

as my brain says a and d both orientate the same and without knowing what’s on the 2 hidden sides both are plausible, but are wrong as it’s a different symbol for rectangle than the reference and it certainly isn’t b or c

I have been trying to get back in contact with Andy but not heard anything for a while to be fair.
I have also applied for Edinburgh. Fingers crossed for both of us but assuming we get through initial stages would be good to keep in touch on here in the meantime.

Hi all, apologies if this is in the wrong thread, (feel free to direct me to the right one !). I have just applied for the trainee role with XC and was wondering what to expect. From reading this thread it appears it's a very slow process around the country but could anyone say how long it takes to get through the initial application sift ?

Last round of XC recruitment there was / is someone who’s 21, so not too young, really depends on if you pass the tests how you answer MMI / DMI life experience questions and if enough ‘experience’ or understanding of situations etc…

Internal applicant here. Speaking to a driver in the week about the current campaign. Been told to wait a while, as it seems they’re emptying the hold pool first, hence the 2027 start dates stated on the website. FWIW, I’ve also received the email regarding testing and to fill the form provided out.
Got the email not long ago, finished the questionnaire and then done a practise spatial test online.. got 2/10 so I better get practising
Hi Guys, I have just completed the questionnaire (received tonight), and it asks if I have ever sat Psychometric tests. I sat some last year with Scotrail and passed all the tests that I sat BUT from memory there was a second assessment day (joystick ect) after DMI (I didn’t pass DMI). So……I absweres yes I have sat tests and it then asked if I passed and brought up 3 options:
Passed all
Partially passed
No (failed basically)
I passed every test I sat but answered partially passed as I am thinking “passed all” means you don’t need to sit any more tests? From anyone in the know about the process, would you say I am correct in saying partially passed?

Correct, you partially passed as you didn't get to the stage 2 tests after DMI

Where did you get the practice material from please?
