Also, it's a lot more resources to plan and arrange interviews with DMs than sending a list to do testing. If anything, this is the stage which takes longest to sort out

Have any of the lads who missed out on doing the online tests had an update?

Unfortunately I've got a feeling it's just gonna be a case of unlucky we are too busy to rectify it.

Think it’s just a waiting game for all now. It’ll get busy again if and when people start getting invited for DMI’s. I am unsure of any timescales on these things, but I’m sure it can take a while. Somebody else may be able to shed a light on a rough/estimated timeframe.

Yeah ofcourse, it's just a colloquial term for me that includes everyone.

From what I remember teh job advert mentioned the talent pool could go into 2025 as well so personally I am not expecting to hear anything anytime soon.

I hope to be proved wrong though

I think CrossCountry will want to get as many applicants through as possible for the late 2024/2025 courses, so it might not be that long as far as railway recruitment goes. Certainly some people will hear back sooner than others but given the time taken for the psychometrics it would be in CrossCountry's interest to have a few passed the end stages by the end of next year. Avanti are also still going through the February recruitment with the OPC right now though so that might also be a factor in how long people could be waiting as well along with a Christmas break period.

I certainly hope so. I suppose it’s difficult to say without knowing how many positions etc.

I have gone through the old cross country threads and it seems some people have been waiting years for the Manchester depot which I’m in for so I have no idea.

That’s the concern but going through some old threads I can’t see anyone that started in Manchester so surely they must be in need of some new blood soon.

I heard something about performance recruitment. The higher you score the higher up on the list you are in the talent pool?

I noticed in another XC forum that after the RAAT test’s were completed, they were invited to DMI through a phone call. I wonder if that’s still the process or if it’ll be via email this time round?

I got 3 minutes into the test about Question 6 and the page shutdown for no reason, as such the test ended and I can no longer access it. Does anyone know if the OPC will give me another chance! It was genuinely no fault of my own.

No news tends to be good news in my experience in the railway so far!

AFAIK Edinburgh has a tonnes who passed the tests so they are shortlisting for interviews still.

Guessing you have a reliable source if you know tonnes passed the test at Edinburgh? Or is it an educated guess?

I do agree your no news is good news, however it doesn’t always mean you’ll be successful. I would safely assume it does mean that you haven’t failed the test at least at this stage. Now a case of does your RAAT score, CV & cover letter make the cut when all put together against the rest?

I would say so. Last time I went for XC, I knew people had received the email saying they had failed the RAAT, all roughly on the same day and at the same time. A week later, I received an email saying my application wasn’t going any further (I must have deleted as can’t find the email for exact wording) so I believe after the RAAT, it’s only after they look at CV and cover letter, that they decide if you go to the DMI

Absolutely doesn't mean you've been successful, it's just my experience of railway recruitment .I think you are right in regards it's likely you've passed the RAAT.

Yeah I agree with that. From what I have seen, railway recruitment does take a while. Patience is required for sure. It wouldn’t surprise me if we heard nothing until 2024 tbh. Although I hope it’s sometime this year.

I am unsure if RAAT is a pass/fail or marked too, however they will be checking all applicants who passed the RAAT’s CVs etc to see who makes DMI and who doesn’t. Let’s just hope we all get a shot at DMI at least.

Do you have a rough wait time it took to hear back? Just be interesting to gauge a rough time to hear back this time round. I appreciate it could be different, but something to go on would be nice. I assume everybody who made DMI Heard back not long after you got the email advising they wouldn’t be progressing you any further?

I'd say there's slim chance everyone will get interviewed with the numbers in for it.
